About Us
Nammura Kale is a venture set up by Suma V S and Sowmya R to promote and preserve the rich handicraft heritage of Karnataka.
After careers in teaching and in the corporate world, Suma and Sowmya decided to pursue their passion for arts and crafts. Nammura Kale is driven by their flair for entrepreneurship and their respect for the talented artisans whose creations represent Karnataka’s traditions, culture and history.
Their vision is to encourage selected artisans to innovate and develop new products, beginning with the Channapatna toys and Bidriware range. They also promote Sandur Lambani work made by Sandur Kushala Kala Kendra. Their aim is to preserve handicraft traditions for future generations to enjoy and not just read about in history books. Nammura Kale therefore aims to bring to the market quality products at affordable prices and thus ensure a steady source of income for artisans.
